Thank you for your participation in our annual Utah Tour de Donut!
This year was unique in a variety of ways:
- New Venue
- First ever Uni-cyclist
- Donut Prince / Princess Awards (end up in a tie for each)
- Junior Division
- and so much more!
We were able to gather some food items for Tabitha’s Way Food Pantry, North Utah County. Your donations are appreciated. If you would still like to donate items, their store is located in American Fork, Utah. Just let them know you heard about the food drive with the Utah Tour de Donut.
We received several great comments about the new course. We do have a couple of concerns:
- Traffic in and around the start area – it appears there were multiple events going on at Lone Peak High School… It is hard to find a course with a venue where there are not a lot of activities going on.
- Even though we coned off some areas of the route, it appears that people still parked their cars in those areas and riders had to go out in traffic to get around the vehicles… not sure how we will resolve this going forward.
- We need a few more volunteers or to shift course directors to more appropriate locations to assist with getting riders through the course.
We could not have done this without our volunteers – many of which came from the Rotary Club of Mount Timpanogos and the Interact Club. We did have several members who had family riding in the event! Your help is invaluable and appreciated.
We could also not do this without our SPONSORS:
Print Integrity – provided the fliers and posters to help market our event
Trek of American Fork – Cyclist Support
Costco – water and wipes
Goal Zero – power for the Sound System
Avenue Bakery – not easy to bake up 100 dozen donuts and have them fresh the morning of our event!
Gluten-Free Heaven – wonderful donuts for our riders who choose that option!
Plan-It Rentals – Sound Equipment
Wilkinson Shirts-Awards-Medals – The Shirts and Awards
Lucas Marc Design – Graphic Design for print materials and shirts
i9 Sports – Monetary Donation
Monetary Donations from several community members
